State releases latest employment figures

Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in July 2017, unchanged from June 2017, and down 0.8 percentage point from a year ago. There were 411,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 10,114,000. The U.S. unemployment rate was 4.3 percent in July. Read the report from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

Carnival announces five more cruises from Tampa to Cuba

Carnival Cruise Line is adding five more cruises from Tampa to Cuba in 2018. "Following strong response to its first-ever cruises to Cuba announced earlier this year, Carnival Cruise Line has added five more voyages from Port Tampa Bay," a port release said. More from the Tampa Bay Times.

Florida Blue to hire for 200 positions in Jacksonville

Florida Blue has 200 open positions for member care specialists that it hopes to fill soon. The positions are nine months a year with three months paid leave each year, usually May-August. More from the Florida Times-Union.

BJ's Wholesale Club grants $100,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank

BJ's Wholesale Club announced a $100,000 donation from the BJ's Charitable Foundation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The donation will help Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida's agency partners increase their capacity to distribute perishable food across the region. More at Florida Trend.
