Chair of Akerman’s Latin America and Caribbean practice, Luis Perez litigates in courts and arbitration forums around the world. His journey from 1960s Cuban refugee to international lawyer brings context and strategic direction to the Miami office. In addition to mentoring the next generation, Perez hosts events where lawyers and executives share views. With the Miami Dade Bar and Dade Legal Aid, his office encourages attorneys to take probate and guardianship cases pro bono and to represent low-income residents of Miami-Dade County.
