The Downtown Arts District Continues “The 2023 Corridor Project Billboard Exhibition” in the Greater Orlando Community

Orlando, FL (January 13, 2023) –  Returning in January 2023 is “The Corridor Project Billboard Exhibition,” presented by Orlando Health. Modeled after the successful “Billboard Creative” in Los Angeles and “Sonora 128” in Mexico City, this is a sky-high exhibition that features the artwork of 30 Orlando-based artists on billboards throughout the Greater Orlando region. The Downtown Arts District (DAD) contracted Pat Greene, for a second year, to select artists and artwork for this exhibition. Eleven artists were pre-selected by Greene. The remaining 19 artists were selected among 150+ applications through an open call facilitated by DAD in October 2022.

"We are thrilled to bring back this exciting exhibition that shows the immense talent of our local creative community," says Barbara Hartley, Executive Director of the Downtown Arts District.

With the assistance from supporting sponsor, Clear Channel Outdoor, each artist is featured on one printed billboard located in different areas of Greater Orlando. These 30 individual billboards were installed on January 9, 2023 and will run for approximately four weeks. The public can experience these billboards at their various locations throughout the Greater Orlando area. In addition, all of the artwork will rotate on digital billboards along I-4, which are also on display for a month.

Curator Pat Greene says, “I’m imagining a scenario of a car full of people driving from I-4 to I-95 to some cosmopolitan city up north, and collectively saying, that was one of the best art shows I’ve seen.”

The 30 featured artists are: 2NES UNOe, Alex Estrada, Anthony Darby, Betanya Grant, Carlos Quintero, Chad Forsyth, Daniel Ringelberg, Dave Sonnenberg, Gisela Romero, Grace Netanya, Ivan Smith, Jaime Margary, Jim Hobart, Johannah O'Donnell, JR Ramoutar, Juliet Romeo, Kate Shore, Kelly Berry, Leo Cordovi, Lisa Cody-Rapport, Mär Martinez, Matt Duke, Nelson Cardenas, Professor Skyline, Q Pie, Quillsong, Rachel Simmons, Roxy Cousino, Skate Bud, and Tim Edwards.

On January 19, 2023, there will be a public Opening Night Reception at CityArts to unveil the original artwork featured on the billboards. This in-person exhibition will run from January 19 - February 12, 2023. To register for the public opening night, visit https://3rdthujan23.eventbrite.com.

This is an incredible opportunity for both DAD and all the artists involved. “The Corridor Project Billboard Exhibition” increases visibility and awareness of what the Central Florida creative community has to offer because it actively engages tourists and locals as they are driving around Greater Orlando and I-4.

“The Corridor Project Billboard Exhibition” could not have happened without the generosity of presenting sponsor, Orlando Health, and supporting sponsor, Clear Channel Outdoor.
