Nemours aims to take children's health care beyond hospital walls

Dr. Larry Moss took the reins of Nemours Children’s Health System in Jacksonville in the fall of 2018, after serving for seven years as surgeon in chief at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and as a professor at Ohio State University. Under his direction, the Florida-based pediatric health care system recently embarked on a five-year plan that aims to redefine the notion of children’s health to include more than just what happens in the hospital and address broken payment models. “We believe we have a unique opportunity and obligation to really profoundly influence the way America takes care of kids, and we believe that needs input, and it needs change,” Moss said in a recent interview with FLORIDA TREND.
