Two Tampa Bay area restaurant chains add new locations despite industry challenges to find employees

As pandemic restrictions loosen and people feel more comfortable wandering out in public, two local restaurant chains have announced expansion plans. Big Storm Brewing Co. and SoFresh both plan to add new locations later this year. Big Storm is planning an 11,000-square-foot taproom and restaurant in Ybor City. Three new luxury apartment towers are expected to transform Young Circle in Hollywood, breathing life into a burgeoning urban scene but doing away with a landmark building in the process. Developer BTI Partners of Fort Lauderdale plans to build 1,030 downtown apartments. The Bread Building, an 11-story landmark built in 1969, and an aging strip center will be knocked down to make way for all three towers on the eastern side of the circle, the last piece to finally get its long-awaited makeover. Miami International Airport offering COVID-19 vaccines to Florida passengers, employees

Starting Monday, anyone who lives or works in Florida will be able to receive a COVID-19 vaccine while waiting for their next flight at Miami International Airport. So can airport employees, their family and friends. Manatee County considers taking focus off automobiles in transportation plan

Manatee County commissioners discussed potential changes to the county’s transportation network on Tuesday afternoon during a workshop, including a shift to a “complete streets” model and potential addition of new roads to the plan. County officials presented a staff-proposed amendment to the county’s Traffic Circulation Plan to update county documents and reflect the current status of county, state and developer road improvements since the last thoroughfare plan amendment in 2014.
