What is motivating people to move to Florida?

Housing prices, space to spread out, tax savings and sunshine. Those are likely reasons you think about when you think of why people move to Florida. But ask yourself, would the ability to vote in a swing state send you packing? It may not be a big trend yet, but some Realtors, like Bonnie Heatzig, are taking note. She said she's hearing from clients who are planning to accelerate their move. "Everybody's a little surprised," she said. "You know, we've never really seen this in the real estate market before." Heatzig said the ability to cast a ballot in a swing state is among the reasons people are considering Florida as a place to call home. More from WFLX.

Radial hiring 1,567 customer care workers in Melbourne for the holiday shopping season

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Radial is hiring 1,567 workers in Melbourne to communicate with retail customers via phone, chat and social media during the holiday season. "With COVID, and with so many people being impacted or maybe displaced from their careers, this really offers them a chance at a new career," said Deb Backiel, director of customer care at Radial’s Melbourne location. CBD maker eschews quick and easy path to profits

SeaWorld adds maze, keeps trick-or-treating for 2020 Halloween Spooktacular

SeaWorld Orlando has revealed more details about its Halloween Spooktacular event, which will include a new “silly Halloween maze" and trick-or-treating. The 2020 edition of the theme park’s Spooktacular, with some coronavirus-related tweaks, begins Saturday. Assorted candies will be available at trick-or-treat stations with physical distancing for young costumed visitors. Visitors will be directed through the stations in one direction only, entering the Bayside Stadium pathway near the Wild Arctic attraction. More from the Orlando Sentinel.

Space conglomerate Redwire moving headquarters to Jacksonville

Space conglomerate Redwire, which acquired Jacksonville-based Made In Space in June, is moving its headquarters to the First Coast, a move that could see it expand its footprint and workforce. Made in Space has operated in Jacksonville since 2015, after being founded in Silicon Valley in 2010. It officially moved its headquarters here earlier this year, a move heralded by Gov. Developer Royal Palm Cos. Revised hotel/condo plans at Miami Worldcenter

 In the wake of the coronavirus, developer Royal Palm Cos. has revised its plans for a hotel and condo at Miami Worldcenter, the 27-acre, $5-billion, mixed-use project underway in downtown Miami. RPC now plans to make the Legacy Hotel & Residences pandemic-resistant, with voice-activated elevators, touch-less room key access and autonomous disinfection robots to sanitize common areas.
