"It was love at first bite."

When Top Round — A California-based restaurant chain that specializes in deli sandwiches — opens in Fort Lauderdale near the end of January, it will be one of several firsts.

Not only will this be the first location in Florida, it will be the first on the East Coast.

Dallas is the only other city to have a franchise outside of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Irvine, Calif. The fast-casual eatery will be located in the Palm Court Pavilion on the edge of Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village.
