Miami sets ambitious emissions goal: carbon neutral by 2050. How to get there isn’t clear

With sea level rise already lapping at its door, the city of Miami made its first significant commitment to address the root cause of climate change, not just the symptoms. The city government plans to go carbon neutral by 2050, a pledge that will change everything from what city employees drive to how the city builds to how it powers itself. SpaceX postpones next launch of its internet satellites due to ‘extreme weather’ at rocket recovery site

SpaceX is postponing a launch of another batch of its internet satellites set for Tuesday afternoon due to “extreme weather” in the rocket’s recovery zone in the Atlantic Ocean, the company said. Elon Musk’s rocket company was initially scheduled to launch a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s launch complex 40 during a launch window that opened at 11:59 a.m. More from the Orlando Sentinel.

Offerpad launches in Jacksonville

Real estate tech innovator Offerpad launched Monday in Jacksonville, its third major Florida market. Offerpad is a privately held company headquartered in Chandler, Ariz., operating across the country in 800 cities and counting. Iguanas cost Florida city $1.8 million in emergency repairs

 Invasive iguanas have burrowed into the soft dirt around an aging dam, costing a Florida city $1.8 million in emergency repairs. The burrows were noticed last year by some West Palm Beach employees and the city hired a contractor to make repairs, including laying a grid over the soil to prevent both erosion and burrowing.
