136,000 expected to visit Miami International Boat Show

When the 78th annual Miami International Boat Show sails into the former Miami Marine Stadium on Virginia Key Feb. 14, following in its wake will be $53 million in spending by more than 136,000 domestic and international visitors who will generate at least 100,000 hotel room nights during the show’s four-day run, promoters say. State: More than 83,000 votes in Florida were invalid

A new report compiled by Florida officials says more than 83,000 voters didn't cast a valid vote for governor. The combined total of invalid ballots outnumbered Republican Ron DeSantis's margin of victory over Democrat Andrew Gillum by more than 50,000 votes. The race between DeSantis and Gillum was so close that it triggered an automatic statewide recount. More from the AP.

SeaWorld picks Carnival Cruise exec Gus Antorcha for new CEO

SeaWorld Entertainment is hiring an outsider to run the Orlando-based company, which operates 12 theme parks across the country. Gustavo “Gus” Antorcha, previously chief operating officer of Carnival Cruise Lines, will serve as SeaWorld’s new CEO, the company announced Tuesday. More from the Orlando Sentinel.

These are just some of the design features of the new headquarters being built in Davie for business law firm Kelley Kronenberg. With nine offices throughout South Florida and its leased space in Plantation at capacity, Kelley Kronenberg decided it was time for a new headquarters.

Sarasota-Manatee’s food courts of the past, present and future

floridaFood courts were not a part of the original shopping mall concept. They started popping up around the early 1970s as people abandoned the downtown shopping areas of the early 20th century in favor of indoor, suburban shopping malls. In today’s retail environment, the idea of bringing in restaurants to complement shopping has been flipped on its head. Shopping and food are now equal draws. In some cases, the food might be even more of a lure than the shopping.
