No Amazon HQ2 for South Florida; e-commerce giant chooses NYC and Arlington, Va. plus Nashville.

South Florida is not Amazon’s choice — for now. Amazon has chosen to split its second headquarters operation between New York City and Arlington, Va., Amazon said Tuesday. As kiteboarding grows in popularity, Miami Beach proposes rules to regulate the sport

 On a windy October afternoon, a half-dozen kiteboarders skimmed the waves off Miami Beach, pulled along the water by brightly colored kites. The sport has grown increasingly popular on the island in recent years, but hasn’t been subject to many rules. That has led to tensions between kiteboarders and residents who live near a popular launch spot.

florida 4ocean, an ocean cleanup company headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, will unveil their new Ocean Plastic Recovery Vessel, a 135-foot vessel outfitted with 48,000 gallon fuel tanks, 30,000 gallon water tanks and 14 cabins. The OPR Vessel will assist in the gathering of plastic and trash at domestic and international locations by targeting local and land-based coastline issues and tackling coastline plastics, containing them, collecting them, and reclaiming large-scale debris fields in the waterways.
