» Tallahassee-based Taproot Creative marketing has named Tajiana Ancora-Brown its regional director to manage expansion into south Florida, with an office in Boca Raton.

Ancora-Brown previously supervised corporate communications for a network of animal hospitals and has served as consultant for a law firm on social media strategies.

» Florida First Capital Finance Corp. in Tallahassee has hired James Hosman as vice president and business development officer for the Florida Panhandle region. Hosman previously was COO for Martin Construction in Atmore, Ala., and earlier was a business development officer for Florida First Capital.

» Don Kirkman is the new president of Florida’s Great Northwest, a 16-county, regional economic development organization based in Destin. Kirkman was most recently president and CEO of the Piedmont Triad Partnership in North Carolina, a 12-county economic development organization.

» The Florida Chamber of Commerce has named Larry Cretul, former Speaker of the Florida House, as staff director of its Board of Governors program. Cretul, a small-business owner, will work to advance the chamber’s Six Pillars of Florida’s Future Economy and make free enterprise recommendations to the chamber board.

» Scott Johnson has retired from the Florida Association of Insurance Agents, where he was executive vice president. He served with FAIA since 1974, when he was hired as an educational instructor.
