Florida suspends payment to SunPass contractor until system is fixed

Today, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) suspended all payments to SunPass contractor Conduent until the electronic tolling system is fixed. In a letter to Conduent, FDOT secretary Mike Dew acknowledged the vendor made some improvements on processing transactions, but also said these improvements aren’t enough to satisfy the original performance-based contract signed in 2015. An FDOT statement informs the public that, "Late fees and penalties will not be imposed until the system is fully operational and is providing the benefits and ease of access that SunPass customers deserve and expect."
