Volunteer Florida Kicks Off April as Florida Volunteer Month

TALLAHASSEE — Every year, the state of Florida recognizes April as Florida Volunteer Month. To highlight volunteers and their impact in the Sunshine State, Volunteer Florida recently announced a #30Under30 initiative to honor exceptional volunteers under the age of 30. Volunteer Florida also announced a statewide public service announcement, and a proclamation from Governor Rick Scott.

Governor Scott said, “Florida volunteers strengthen communities across the state and help change the lives of families in need. We are proud to recognize the hard work and commitment of our many volunteers during the year’s Florida Volunteer Month.”

Volunteer Florida CEO Chester Spellman said, “Volunteer Florida is proud to recognize Florida’s outstanding volunteers, who work hard every day to make the Sunshine State the best place to live, work, and raise a family. Florida Volunteer Month is a time to celebrate their impact and encourage others to serve!”
