Fitbit Force Wireless Activity & Sleep Wristband - $130

The inconspicuous wristband is a pedometer-plus, tracking steps, distance, stairs climbed, calories burned and activity minutes, plus it monitors your sleep and wakes you with a silent alarm. It's waterproof and comes with a charging cable and wireless sync dongle.

Biscotti XS - $300

The cookie-sized device — hence the name — sits atop your HDTV to turn it into a video (or voice) calling system and saves calls and messages through cloud services. It comes with free unlimited calling that integrates with Google Talk.

GoPro Hero 3+ - From $300

Mount the GoPro Hero 3+ camera on a head strap or chest harness as you ski, surf, hang glide or perform other athletic feats, with a new flexible clamp called "Jaws" (which ranges from $20 to $50). There's now a GoPro App for your phone and tablet that acts as a remote control for the camera and lets you preview, email, text, Instagram and post the videos on Facebook.

Galaxy Gear Smart Watch - $300

As long as you have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smart phone to connect to it via Bluetooth, you'll be able to bring most of your phone's apps (including text messaging) to your wrist, eliminating the need to constantly fool with your phone (and allowing you to be more inconspicuous about your distractions).

The Swing Glove - $38

The leather glove/training guide helps golfers keep their wrists in the right position and provides guidance throughout the swing, preventing wrists from bending when they shouldn't and helping to produce a more consistent swing.

BACTrack Mobile Breathalyzer - $150

The small gadget checks your blood alcohol level on the screen of your iPhone or Samsung Galaxy. It even tells you how long before it's safe to drive again.

Suunto Ambit 2 GPS Multifunction Watch - $500

The Suunto is a GPS and waterproof watch, but it also keeps exercise logs specific to sports you participate in — such as laps in swimming — monitors and alerts you to weather conditions, is compatible with a heart rate monitor (not included), has a rechargeable battery and comes with a two-way USB so you can transfer data back and forth between the device and your computer.

Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses - $1,000

Released in December, the M100 is a hands-free wearable computer based on the Android operating system that can be fastened to safety glasses or a headband. Features are similar to those of a smart phone, including cameras that can capture five-megapixel stills or 1080i video, and a 240 x 400 display that is clearly visible from 14 inches away. Coming soon: A voice recognition update and noise-canceling technology that will eliminate the need for a data connection to give the M100 commands.

Tailgater by Dish - $250

The portable 10-pound satellite dish comes in a weatherproof casing. Just pack it along with a TV screen the next time you head out to live among nature and convert your tent into an entertainment center.

MiPow Power Tube 5500 - $99

Slightly larger than a cigarette lighter and weighing less than 5 ounces, the power tube can charge most smart phones at least twice or a tablet up to about 50% of capacity. It includes a charging cable and 10 adapter tips, has a USB port that you can use with your device's charging cable and an LED that doubles as an emergency flashlight.
