Anyone who surfs knows riding the perfect wave can be addictive.

So, in an effort to get youth involved with the sport rather than becoming addicted to dangerous drugs — three Brevard County Sheriff’s officers have recently stepped up their efforts via their nonprofit Law Enforcement Officers Surfing Association.

The trio, Brandon Gish, Steve Fernez and Troy Deavers, are entering their third year of LEOSA — one that is dedicated to educating area youth about drug awareness.
