Manny Mencia will be joining Florida Trend on Tuesday, Dec. 11 as Trend holds a live Web Chat on the topic of "Florida and Colombia as Trade Partners."

Manuel “Manny” Mencía is the senior vice president of Enterprise Florida’s International Trade and Development division.  He supports Enterprise Florida’s mission by overseeing all of its international trade development and foreign direct investment recruitment programs.

Based in Miami, the division’s headquarters, Manny also supervises Enterprise Florida’s six field offices located throughout Florida plus offices located in 14 countries worldwide.

Manny joined Enterprise Florida in 1996.  Previously, he served as vice president of World Marketing at the Beacon Council, Miami’s principal economic development organization.  His background also includes holding various executive positions with the former Florida Department of Commerce.

Manny holds a two bachelor’s degrees; in education, from Florida International University; and in political science from St. Thomas University in Miami.

He has served as president of the State International Development Organizations (SIDO) and board memberships have been with the Florida Export Finance Corporation, World Trade Center-Miami, Florida Trade Partners Alliance and the Florida District Export Council.
