» U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney was ordered to reimburse the U.S. Treasury $5,643 for a 2003 trip he took to Scotland with convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

» William “Bill” Parsons is the new director of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, replacing James W. Kennedy, who is retiring. Parsons has served as deputy director since February 2006.

» Linda Watson, CEO of the Lynx regional transportation authority in Orlando, has been appointed chairwoman of the federal Transportation Research Board’s executive committee. The board reports to the National Research Council on transportation policy issues.

» Deborah German has become the first dean of the new University of Central Florida College of Medicine, which will start classes in fall 2009. She previously served as president and CEO of St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville and senior associate dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
