Dr. P. Barry Butler Named new president of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University becoming the sixth president of the world’s leading university focusing on aviation, aerospace and research. Dr. Butler is leaving his current post as Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of Iowa. On Feb. 14, the Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Butler after he received unanimous support from the search committee that included trustees, faculty, staff and student representatives with delegates from the university’s Daytona Beach, Prescott, Ariz., and Worldwide campuses. Dr. Butler will assume his position as President on March 13. “The energy and passion of the faculty, students, staff and Board members I've met throughout the interview process made it clear I'm joining a very special institution,” said Dr. Butler.
