You’ve heard of children’s hospitals and women’s hospitals. What about a men’s hospital?
AdventHealth is building a 25-acre “hospital of the future” campus in Orlando’s Lake Nona community with a focus on men’s health. The 10-story hospital (which will obviously be available to women as well) is expected to open in 2026 with 80 beds, with room to expand to 320. Construction crews recently completed the cement pour on the second floor of the hospital and have started working on the third floor.
“Central Florida is growing at a fast pace, and there is particularly robust population growth happening in parts of east Orange County and Osceola County,” says Doug Harcombe, CEO of the hospital, which will be called AdventHealth Lake Nona. “AdventHealth’s plans for Lake Nona are designed to meet these growing demands and to offer high-quality, faith-based care with a particular focus on advanced and cutting-edge surgical and incisionless procedures.”
Services at the new hospital will include men’s health, bariatrics, neurology, cardiology and orthopedics. The hospital will also feature an incisionless surgical suite capable of delivering focused-energy treatments that use ultrasound to destroy tumors and to stop tremors in patients with Parkinson’s disease.
