Planning for the New Year

As almost all companies did, we stopped face-to-face meetings over the past 19 months, relying instead on Zoom and other social media tools to keep moving our business forward. However convenient those tools are, I think we can all agree that the experience is just not the same as being able to engage face to face.

As we head into late fall, our plan at Florida Trend is to return to face-to-face meetings and roundtables with executives around the state — provided we all take the necessary precautions. I’m looking forward to it, as I’m sure many of you are.

As we plan for 2022, I am excited about the editorial calendar that our team has put together. Some of the topics we’ll cover include space/aerospace, Florida’s infrastructure, transportation, higher education, the health care landscape, research/technology and innovation and Florida’s workforce.

Economic Backbone features will focus on cancer, cardiac and pediatric care, architecture/ engineering/design/construction, banking and finance, trade and logistics, commercial real estate, Florida law, energy and nursing.

In addition, we will feature seven regional economic profiles highlighting developments in each of the following regions:

- Jacksonville/Northeast Florida

- Pasco County

- Miami-Dade County

- St. Petersburg

- Greater Gainesville

- Sarasota County

- Florida’s Heartland
