Florida sending out more stimulus checks, see who qualifies and how much they’ll get

While it seems as though the chance for all Americans to get a fourth stimulus check is growing dim, some states are doling out their own payments for certain residents. Teachers, first responders or families in need will get additional checks or bonuses thanks to allocations in their state’s budget and other initiatives. The list includes California, Florida New Mexico and Tennessee. More from WFLA.

Women business owners in Florida with big dreams are invited to share their story with BankUnited for a chance to win $10,000 to help grow their business. The inaugural BankUnited “Small Business, Big Dreams” Women in Business Challenge opens for entries Monday. The real estate service RIbbon is coming to Florida, presenting assistance to homebuyers struggling to have their offers accepted in one of the tightest housing markets on record. The tech-based company turns mortgage-financed offers into all-cash offers. “We’re standing in as a way to protect the [homebuying] transaction for everyone,” said Shaival Shah, Ribbon’s president and CEO. Sarasota's Marie Selby Botanical Gardens begins its expansion

 At times, the relationship between Sarasota’s Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and its surrounding neighborhood has been contentious, with the gardens seeking to redevelop and add amenities as neighbors sought to minimize noise and traffic. A compromise has put an end to four years of wrangling, and Selby has begun building the first phase of its $92-million master plan, which includes a 450-space parking garage, a welcome center, a restaurant, a research library, a laboratory, a greenhouse and stormwater system improvements.
