| 5/26/2021

Pasco County, FL, May 25, 2021 – If you have a recent high school grad not sure what comes next, AmSkills has the perfect opportunity for them to get free, hands-on training for a lucrative career in the manufacturing industry.

This Saturday (May 29), AmSkills is offering a one-day Discovery Workshop for grads who want to find out if the manufacturing industry is right for them.

During the interactive Discovery Workshop, participants will work individually and as a team to build a hands-on project. Those that choose to move on will be invited to attend a free, two-week manufacturing training bootcamp, which runs from June 7-18. Both the Discovery Workshop and the training bootcamp are being held in Pasco County at 9130 Ridge Rd., New Pt. Richey, 34654.

The bootcamp consists of multiple hands-on projects, blueprint and measurement reading, intro to soldering, attending tours of local manufacturers and obtaining an OSHA Safety Certificate. During the program, participants will also receive guidance in preparation for a job interview. All participants who successfully complete the bootcamp will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be guaranteed a job interview on the last day. On average, participating manufacturers need to fill 40-60 entry-level positions. Those selected will have the opportunity to start working within a month of completing the bootcamp.

If you are looking for something just for the summer, a paid internship with Pasco County Utilities may be what your high school junior, senior or graduate is looking for. This seven-week internship is only open to eight people, so those interested should register at AmSkills.org or call (727) 301-1282 right away. The internship runs from June 14 – July 30, 2021.
