› Northwest Jacksonville manufacturing facility sells for $2.1 million
NAI Hallmark announced April 6 it brokered the $2.1 million sale of 5051 Cleveland Road, a manufacturing facility with office space in Northwest Jacksonville. The news release said Principal Patrick Thornton, Senior Vice President Daniel Burkhardt and Kimberly Mathis of NAI Partners represented the seller, Metals USA Plates and Shapes, which manages Jeffreys Steel Co. Inc.

› Heating and air company wins work at luxury hotels
Cortez Heating & Air recently announced it won the work to provide maintenance services to a pair of high-end Orlando hotels: the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort and Waldorf Astoria Orlando. Financial terms weren’t disclosed for the agreement, which runs through March 2024.

› #407Day campaign to support Orlando restaurants returns
April 7 marks the return of #407day, a campaign introduced last year to inspire support for local restaurants — the Orlando hospitality community’s largest sector. “Our restaurant community has always represented a vital part of who we are as a region,” said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings in a press release. “This year, we are proud to continue to show our support for our restaurants through ‘#407 Day.’ Although it has been challenging, we are resilient and we continue to always have a neighbors helping neighbors philosophy. I encourage our residents to enjoy the time out or order takeout or delivery.”

› City of Sarasota votes to resurrect mask mandate
The third time was, indeed, a charm for mandatory masks in the city of Sarasota. After failing twice to resurrect the city’s emergency mask ordinance since commissioners allowed it to sunset on Feb. 25, a majority of commissioners on Monday night voted 3-2 to begin the process of reinstating it.
