› Two immigrants open 1,000th Marco’s Pizza restaurant in Kissimmee
Kattya Barbaran and Rafi Vargas came to the United States with the dream of establishing their own business and a legacy for their respective families. They met several years ago while they worked for Burger King. Years later they met again at a Marco’s Pizza. Today, they celebrate a milestone as the new owners of a new pizzeria in Kissimmee. They venture into this experience as business partners fulfilling the dream for two Hispanics and the growth of a company that manages to open its 1,000th store.

› New North Port hotel to host job fair in anticipation of early December opening
Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton is hosting a job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Saturday to hire staff in anticipation of opening the hotel in early December. The 100-room hotel at 5664 Tuscola Boulevard will be the first new hotel in North Port since 1973.

› Miami appeals court sides with Lennar Corp. executive chairman in wrongful termination lawsuit
A Miami appeals court has upheld the dismissal of a wrongful termination lawsuit filed against Stuart Miller, the executive chairperson of building giant Lennar Corp. Three years ago, Viviana Santana, a former housekeeper at his Star Island estate, filed a suit that alleged she had been fired after reporting she had been sexually harassed by another household employee. The suit did not allege that Miller, who then held the title of Lennar CEO, himself engaged in any harassment.

› SpaceX scrubs Starlink launch scheduled to take off from Cape Canaveral Thursday
SpaceX scrubbed a Thursday launch that was scheduled to deliver another batch of Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Its Falcon 9 rocket was slated to take off at 12:14 p.m. from Launch Complex 40, but about 10 minutes before liftoff the launch was called off. The forecast, according to the 45th Weather Squadron, was only 50% “go,” citing thick clouds in the area at that time.
