› Chef with Food Network experience opens Tampa bakery
Brenda Villacorta once vowed she wouldn’t go into the culinary arts. Her mom owns Sugar Art Studio in Lutz. Her grandmother owned a coffee shop, and later, Villacorta’s aunt took over the shop. But Villacorta wanted to carve her own path in a different field. In June, however, she opened her own bakery in Tampa: Sucré Table.
› Insurance company hires new sales leader, promotes sales director
Sunz Insurance has named Paul Marks the company’s executive vice president of sales. The firm also promoted Alicia Christiansen to director of sales operations. Marks has been in the insurance industry since 1994 and has extensive experience in workers’ compensation, according to a press release. Most recently, he was with workers’ compensation insurance company Summit Consulting Inc. for 18 years.

› Allied Universal hiring 300 security positions in South Florida
Allied Universal is currently hiring about 300 positions in South Florida as the demand for more security presence increases nationwide. About 150 jobs are available across the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. “We are recruiting for all shifts for all levels of experience,” says Cara Dark, Regional Recruiter Director Allied Universal.
