› Southeastern Grocers to Expand in Florida With Eight New Stores
Southeastern Grocers, Inc. (SEG), parent company and home of BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, announces plans to expand in Florida with the addition of eight new Winn-Dixie stores before the end of the year.
› Gelato shop accuses Boca Town Center owner of profiteering off electric bills
A gelato and panini shop owner is accusing the owner of the Town Center at Boca Raton of running a profiteering scheme by inflating what it charges retail tenants for electricity and pocketing the difference. In a federal lawsuit filed last week in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale, Cafe Gelato & Panini LLC accused Simon Property Group Inc. of deliberately overcharging retail tenants for electricity despite clauses in their leases stating that they would pay only what the mall owners were charged.
› Central Florida expressway toll collectors return June 1 from coronavirus closures
Toll collectors will return to Central Florida expressways on June 1 after weeks of closure during sheltering from the coronavirus pandemic. The Central Florida Expressway Authority and Florida Department of Transportation removed staff from toll booths in March in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
