› Chick-fil-A to sell its ‘secret sauce’ at Publix and these other Florida stores
Some foodies go to Chick-fil-A for the chicken. Others go for the sauce. Starting in April, you won’t have to ask for extra packages of the restaurant’s “secret” Chick-fil-A or Polynesian sauce to take home anymore. Instead, you can buy 16-ounce bottles of the sauces at your local Publix, Walmart, Winn-Dixie or Target, Chick-fil-A announced Wednesday.
› Sarasota-Bradenton airport traffic up 54% in February
Following another month of exponential passenger traffic growth at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, the airport’s president and CEO said the major passenger traffic increases will likely slow down because of concerns about the coronavirus. Passenger traffic at the local airport was up 54% in February compared to the same month the year before, according to data from the airport.
› Venice restaurant group names new president
Venice Pier Group Vice President Justin Pachota will take over the role of company president from his father, Venice Pier Group Owner Mike Pachota. Venice Pier Group operates the Venice waterfront restaurants Sharky’s on the Pier and Fins at Sharky’s at 1600 Harbor Drive and Snook Haven at 5000 E. Venice Ave. Mike Pachota will remain hands-on with the company as his role transitions to vice president, according to a press release.
› Federal prosecutors open investigation into nonprofit that enriched CEO
Federal prosecutors have launched an investigation into the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, adding the prospect of criminal charges to the government actions mounting against former chief executive officer Tiffany Carr and the agency’s board of directors, accused of misusing millions in taxpayer dollars.
