› Thermo Fisher Scientific unveils $6 million expansion at Viral Vector Manufacturing Facility
The expansion at the Alachua facility is part of Thermo Fisher’s $270 million investment this year to expand its capabilities, capacity and talent globally to enable its customers to develop and deliver high quality medicines to patients around the world. This investment follows the company’s recent acquisition of Brammer Bio, a leader in viral vector manufacturing.

› Sarasota County unlicensed contractor sting results in 16 arrests
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested 16 people this month as part of an undercover sting targeting unlicensed contractors. According to the Sheriff’s Office, detectives worked with the Sarasota County Building Department, the Florida Department of Financial Services Division of Insurance Fraud and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to contact people advertising home repair services that require a license to complete.

› St. Pete’s “Marine Center’ center sells
Known for its huge mural of dolphins and sea turtles, the 28,000-square-foot building dates to 1959 and has been home to marine-related businesses. It will be renamed "The St. Pete Mercantile'' and offer low rents and collaborative space to "makers and artists, fabricators and food/beverage makers.''

› Winter Park approves terms of $6M tourist tax grant for Canopy project
Winter Park commissioners signed off Monday on a funding agreement with Orange County for a $6 million tourist tax grant to benefit the upcoming $40.5 million library and events center project. Canopy, set within a 23-acre block that includes Martin Luther King Jr. Park, is scheduled to open in spring 2021.
