› The Florida Aquarium Celebrates 11th Year of Brews by the Bay
Who knew conservation could taste so good? Mark your calendar for the 11th annual Brews by the Bay at The Florida Aquarium on Friday, October 11, 2019. Enjoy over 100 beer tastings and various food samplings from 30 local Tampa Bay restaurants. This event is sponsored through the generosity of Pepin Distributing Company and Aramark.

The Seminole Hard Rock’s giant guitar hotel may be the gleaming centerpiece, but one of the upgraded casino’s biggest attractions will undoubtedly be DAER South Florida, a 44,000-square-foot dayclub-nightclub entertainment complex.

Cameras and model trains have been part of the long history at Colonial Photo & Hobby, but these days drones are on the shelves as well and the cameras shoot video and have Wi-Fi. “We’re going to evolve,” said Mike Rausch, one of the owners of the family-run shop. “We’re going to evolve with the product that’s out there, the offerings, and we bring in new product all the time, discontinue stuff that’s just faded away because nobody does it, but you have to evolve.”

› Feds fine FPL after St. Lucie plant boss fired worker who raised safety concerns
Florida Power & Light is facing a $232,000 fine after a former FPL executive fired a contract worker who raised a safety concern at the company’s St. Lucie Power Plant near Fort Pierce. The federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission concluded this week that FPL and its contractor, Framatome, wrongly terminated the employee in March 2017 and that a former vice president of the plant created a fake journal to justify the firing.
