› After open meeting law questions raised, Cabinet meeting in Israel now deemed ‘ceremonial’
A meeting of the Florida Cabinet next week in Israel will be “ceremonial” and not official, according to an itinerary of the weeklong trip to the Middle Eastern country released by Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office Thursday. Open government advocates had questioned whether the meeting would comply with Florida’s Sunshine Laws requiring meetings to be noticed and available to the public to attend.

Dive! Dive! It’s the only way you can see the first-ever memorial to the 65 American submarines and over 4,100 crew members lost at sea since 1900. A charter boat named the “Flying Fish” took about 20 U.S. Navy veterans and dozens of others nine miles offshore from Sarasota to place the first living reefs on a permitted site at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico.

› Hollywood pizza parlor owner fears business will close over parking spot issue
A South Florida business that has survived for 62 years has hit a major roadblock, and there is some concern it may not be able to keep the doors open. "Business has been down 25-30 percent," said Thomas Franco, owner of Villa Rose Pizza in Hollywood. "My regular customers are complaining, and they tell me if there is no parking, they just keep driving."
