› Gainesville Residents Struggle To Pay Rent Amid Florida’s Housing Crisis
Gainesville has the highest rent-cost burden rates of any metro in the state of Florida, according to Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS.) Researcher Alex Hermann of the JCHS noted that Gainesville’s high numbers are somewhat skewed by its large student population, which makes up around 12% of the renter pool in the city.
› Office Depot to close three South Florida stores
The closures are among 50 stores across the country expected to close this year as the office-supply retailer looks to reduce costs while reinventing itself as a company that provides IT services, automation and consulting to businesses.

A new brewery and food hall are coming south of downtown Orlando -- using a familiar team of local restaurants. A 4,000-square-foot food and drink space are slated for the renovation of the Fort Gatlin Shopping Center at Gatlin Avenue and South Orange Avenue.
› Naples to spend $500K on security camera system despite low crime rate
The city of Naples plans to spend approximately $500,000 over the next six years to improve its security camera network despite being listed among Florida's safest communities. According to a report released in January by the National Council for Home Safety and Security, a trade association of home security professionals across the U.S., Naples is the fourth safest community in Florida.
