› Seminole County's first medical marijuana dispensary opens in Casselberry
Central Florida is now home to eight medical marijuana dispensaries, with six in Orlando, one in Kissimmee and the eighth in Casselberry. Casselberry was among several Seminole County cities that passed moratoriums on medical marijuana dispensaries. There also was a ban in unincorporated parts of the county and in Orange County.
› FSU research finds pregnant women feel pushed out of their jobs
Many working women feel like they are being pushed out of their jobs when they become pregnant while new fathers often get a boost in their careers, according to research from Florida State University. Samantha Paustian-Underdahl, assistant professor of management at FSU’s College of Business, studied two long-standing theories on why mothers are more likely to leave the workforce than fathers.

› Jacksonville’s Tree Steakhouse changes name May 1
Jacksonville’s iconic Tree Steakhouse will change its name to ChopHouse Thirteen on May 1. Officials at the classic steakhouse that has been at 11362 San Jose Blvd. for decades say the name change “marks the latest chapter in continued improvements to the longtime fixture in the Jacksonville community.” It also will be closing Monday for renovations and plans to reopen May 1.
