› Miami named one of the most corrupt cities nationwide
Bribery, embezzlement and fraud. Miami has it all but it’s not the most corrupt city in the country. The Magic City is No. 4. That’s according to the “Corruption in Chicago and Illinois” report released Monday by the University of Illinois at Chicago which looked at the biggest corrupt cities nationally.
› County Commission rejects proposal to nix funding for Port Canaveral aquarium
County Commissioner John Tobia failed in his attempt to rescind a commitment of $10 million in county tax money to help pay for a proposed $70 million aquarium. The aquarium project would be developed by the Brevard Zoo and would be located at Port Canaveral.
› Two top leaders resign from Bayfront Health St. Petersburg
The chief executive officer and chief financial officer at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg resigned Wednesday. John McLain became the CEO of St. Petersburg's oldest and largest hospital in July 2017, replacing Kathryn Gillette, who retired at the time. Pamela Modisett, the hospital's now former CFO, worked in the position for almost two years.
› Rapture’s suit against Ultra is back in court after judge accepts revised complaint
The legal battle over which electronic music festival gets to play Virginia Key will resume after Rapture Electronic Music Festival submitted an amended lawsuit against Ultra Music Festival outlining specific allegations that Ultra and Miami’s government broke anti-trust laws.
