Machine recount confirms: Ron DeSantis is Florida’s next governor

Nine days after Election Day, and one machine recount later, it is all but official: Ron DeSantis is Florida's next governor. The results of the statewide machine recount which rolled by the Thursday 3 p.m. deadline, solidified what most already knew, as DeSantis has already made himself busy with transitioning to power and creating a new government. Per capita income increased by as much as 4.4 percent in South Florida

South Florida residents became wealthier in 2017, according to a new report on personal income released Thursday by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Per capita income — income divided by population — grew by about 3.3 percent to $47,684 a year statewide. Personal income includes wages, dividends, interest earnings, home rental and business income, and government benefits such as Social Security. [Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel]
