Florida businesses to see drop in workers' comp rates

Florida businesses will get a break on their insurance bills starting in January. The state Office of Insurance Regulation announced late Friday that it has decided to approve an overall 13.8 percent decrease in workers’ compensation insurance rates for 2019. Mote aims to build a better lobster trap

 Fishermen in the Dutch Caribbean want their lobster traps to catch more lobsters and fewer nurse sharks. With that in mind, the Dutch Elasmobranch Society, dedicated to the preservation of sharks and rays, contacted Robert Hueter, director of the Center for Shark Research program at Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota.
