Millions in Florida still uninsured

Florida still has nearly 2.8 million residents who lack health insurance, according to a new report, and 80 percent of them are uninsured for reasons that have nothing to do with Medicaid politics. More from WGCU.

Demand, refinery work lead gas prices to spike

Elevated demand and seasonal refinery maintenance kept upward pressure on the price of gasoline last week. The national average price for a gallon of gasoline rose 2 cents from last week, while average prices jumped 7 cents in Florida. More at the Ocala Star- Banner and AAA.

FIU researchers working on protecting nation’s power grid from cyber attacks

Researchers from FIU’s College of Engineering and Computing have teamed up with four other universities and a utility company to help safeguard the nation’s power utilities from cyber attacks.
