The climb continues for home prices

U.S. home prices rose solidly in June, another sign of health in the housing market. Strong sales have been lifting prices. Sales of existing homes rose 2 percent in July to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.59 million, the fastest pace since February 2007. Researchers discover way to morph cancer cells into normal cells

A breakthrough in cancer research and perhaps one day, cancer treatment, as Mayo Clinic announces a new way to stop cancer cells dead in their tracks. The news comes from the Mayo Clinic Florida campus in Jacksonville. More at the KTTC., Medical News Today, and the Telegraph.

Maitland-made Madden NFL 16 debuts

It has been 27 years since Electronic Arts debuted a video game that would become one of the greatest sports video game franchises ever created. Since then, the Madden NFL series has sold millions of games, generated billions of dollars in revenue and moved its production site to a Central Florida studio. More at the Orlando Sentinel.

Gov. Scott orders random hospital audits

Gov. Rick Scott is ordering state health officials to audit more than 100 hospitals as part of his ongoing battle with hospitals, which he says are driving up Medicaid costs. More at the AP.
