Stars and Stripes fly over U.S. Embassy in Havana for first time in half century

­Watched over by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, U.S. Marines raised the American flag at the embassy in Cuba for the first time in 54 years on Friday, symbolically ushering in an era of renewed diplomatic relations between the two Cold War ­era foes. Full story from Reuters is here.

Florida economists project continued growth in state money

Preliminary forecasts show that Florida's economy is continuing to grow. State economists are meeting Friday to draw up new forecasts to predict how much state will collect in taxes. More at the AP.

How much income do you need to buy a home in Florida?

Home prices have continued to increase throughout Jacksonville and the state this year, but with the continued increase in mortgages, the amount of qualifying income needed to obtain a loan has increased in tandem. More at the Jacksonville Business Journal.
