Florida's school testing debate is alive again

The push to overhaul Florida's testing system is regaining momentum with a proposal to replace the new Florida Standards Assessments with tried and true national exams. School district leaders suggest the national tests would be less time-consuming and easier to implement. More at the Tampa Bay Times.

Business stockpiles jump in June

U.S. businesses boosted their stockpiles in June by the largest amount in more than two years. Businesses increased their stockpiles by 0.8 percent in June, the biggest increase since January 2013, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. More at the AP.
