Community banks aim to fill small business lending void

A new study from Dun and Bradstreet and Pepperdine University says greater demand exists in Florida for small business loans than in other states, but a lower percentage of loans are approved. Community banks in Southwest Florida, though, say they have been busy lending, and believe small banks will meet the demand. More from SRQ Magazine.

New distribution center for Port Canaveral breaks ground in Titusville

The Titusville Logistics Center, a cargo handling facility serving Port Canaveral, broke ground Monday morning. The first building in the 320-acre complex will be a 246,000-square-foot warehouse leased by the port More at the Orlando Sentinel.

Four Florida cities lead nation in cash home sales

Miami and three other Florida cities lead the nation when it comes to all-cash real estate transactions. The research firm RealtyTrac said the three other cities which had the highest share of home sales in cash of any metro area in the nation in June were Homosassa Springs, Naples and Vero Beach.
