A Resurgence in Unions?

A University of Florida historian who specializes in race and labor in America predicts “a rebirth of organized labor in the nation” if a Democratic president is elected this year and if legislation pending in Congress passes to make union recognition easier. Such a rebirth, says Professor Robert Zieger, would likely feature minority workers. Zieger makes the predictions in a new book, “For Jobs and Freedom: Race and Labor in America since 1865.”
