Cutting Edge Architecture: Burke Hogue Mills offices

Sloped glass sections pop at the entry corner at the offices of architecture firm Burke Hogue Mills in Lake Mary, and an angled wall in the middle appears to break up and out through the structure. Inside, the 15,700-sq.-ft. space exudes an open, industrial vibe. Steel beams with holes and corrugated metal panels are featured prominently as natural light pours in from windows up high. The design emphasis is on eco-friendly materials. Countertop slabs derive their patterns from multihued shards of recycled glass. More traditional wall tiles also are made from recycled glass.
