Florida slightly improved its national standing this year, rising from 36th to 32nd overall in the annual America’s Health Rankings report. But the takeaway for the nation’s third-largest state is that it has a long way to go in many important health categories. See Florida's full state findings here. Cape Coral, Fort Myers hiring to be ‘best in nation’

Hiring in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and other parts of Lee County is expected to be the "best in the nation" in the first quarter of 2018. Florida declares Everglades water cleaner than ever. Miccosukee Tribe says not so fast.

Florida water managers say water running from conservation areas into the Everglades is cleaner than ever, reaching the lowest levels since clean-up efforts began. But the Miccosukee Tribe, which won a landmark case forcing the state to clean water, said the district continues to exclude polluted water from monitoring reports. More from the Miami Herald.

A noticeable decline in customers during the past few years preceded the move, as trendy new eateries opened along Florida and Nebraska avenues in Seminole Heights.
