FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT Building eight solar power plants with a combined capacity of nearly 600 megawatts — enough to power 120,000 homes with zero-emissions energy. Sites in Putnam, Alachua-Putnam, Indian River and DeSoto counties are slated for completion by January 2018; four additional facilities in Brevard, Indian River, Hendry and St. Lucie counties are expected to become operational by March 2018.
GULF POWER Teaming up with Coronal Energy to construct 1.5 million solar panels at military installations in Okaloosa, Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
DUKE ENERGY Opened the Perry Solar Facility and the Suwannee Solar Facility in Florida’s north central region as part of its long-range plan to install 500 megawatts of solar power throughout the state by 2024.
