More than 2 million primary ballots headed to Florida voters

Five weeks before Florida's statewide primary election, nearly 2.2 million voters have requested ballots. Nearly half of the requests (about 978,000) were from Republicans, and 819,000 were from Democrats, with most of the rest from voters with no party affiliation. More from the Tampa Bay Times.

Duke Energy brings solar project online in Florida

Nearly 15,000 solar panels soaking up the sun in Osceola County are now providing renewable energy to Duke Energy customers in Florida. According to the company, which owns and operates the project, the Osceola Solar Facility is about the size of 13 football fields. More from Duke Energy, here.

Denver investment firm buys Florida jet engine company

Regulators propose higher levels of toxic chemicals in Florida's water

larry the lobster A giant lobster thought to be 110-years-old was spared the pot in Florida this week after an animal rescue group raised enough funds to save it. The group campaigned for Larry’s rescue on Facebook with the hash tag #LobsterLivesMatter, raising enough money to fund his bid for freedom.
