Even as the economy extends its growth and small businesses slowly add jobs, most owners are still holding off on hiring. Many owners have no plans to add to their payrolls, according to recent surveys. Some owners who do want to hire face obstacles like finding workers who can and want to do the job. More at the AP.
Latina uprising: Florida No. 3 for most female Hispanic-owned firms
According to the 2014 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report, 2014 is expected to see the number of Latina-owned businesses in Florida grow to 144,600 — an increase of 8,700 from 2013’s report that recorded 135,900 Latina-owned businesses. More at the Orlando Business Journal.
