Bright House Networks will soon launch Florida's fastest home broadband connection in the Tampa Bay suburbs, offering a hyper-speed competitor to Internet powerhouses like Google Fiber, the cable company said Thursday.
The ultrafast gigabit broadband network, 11 times speedier than Bright House's current fastest "Lightning" service, will debut this spring in model homes raised by a Tampa subdivision developer, Metro Development Group.
The fiber-to-the-home service, called ULTRAFi, will come pre-wired in 6,000 new homes built in planned communities over the next three years, and about 20,000 homes in years after.
