"I'm actually disappointed I'll be out of town this weekend and won't be able to strip down to my boxers and do it again."

So how do you get hundreds of people to run through the streets of downtown Orlando in their underwear?

You might ask Belle Isle Mayor Bill Brooks on Saturday afternoon. He'll be the tall, middle-aged guy in the boxers and top hat — and not much else.

"Well, when you talk to people who know me, they'll tell you Bill Brooks is a little bit crazy," he says.

They might also tell you that Brooks, the organizer of Cupid's Undie Run in Central Florida, is utterly devoted to the cause at the heart of this odd fundraising event: The Children's Tumor Foundation.
