College dropout Don Mader came to Florida in 1991 to work in his cousin’s T-shirt company. He was making $5.50 an hour. Some 22 years later, he runs Southeastern Printing, a 230-employee company based in Stuart with $62 million in revenue. In 2001, Mader and his uncle bought a minority interest, and in 2004 they took full ownership. Southeastern prints everything from business cards to annual reports, runs two beverage label plants in Palm City and near State College, Pa., and recently revved up Blue Water Editions, a fine arts printing company and gallery in Port Salerno. Mader has made seven acquisitions and opened a Tampa office in September.
