Stone-crab harvest down, prices way up
In 46 years as a commercial fisherman, Gary Graves says he has never seen a stone crab harvest season as poor as this one. Graves, who runs Keys Fisheries in Marathon — the main supplier for Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach — says his catches are down 40 percent since the season opened Oct 15. Revamped food truck rally to roll in to Gainesville
On Saturday, Gainesville's Food Truck Rally is coming back, boasting more space, more vendors and more time. "Our first event had an incredible turnout," said Pat Lavery of Glory Days Presents, the company that collaborated with Pelican Brothers Food Truck to plan the free festival. "But our biggest goal is to decrease the wait times. We're trying to improve the experience for everybody." More at the Gainesville Sun.
New superhero show to be prepared in Ellenton
